The Konista Bridge over the Aoos River was built in 1870. Note the small bell which hangs under the bridge. I’ve forgotten why it is there. Note the “pill-box” located at one end of the bridge. Pandusus says it was used in a defense against rebels in the late 1940’s Greek Civil War.
