After the 11 day tour of Greece we returned to Athens for a day or two rest and I then headed of on a group tour to Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi in the southwest area ofthe country called the Peloponnesas.

The archaeological sites of Mycenae and Tiryns were placed on the World Heritage list of UNESC in 1999. These centers of mycenian culture dominated the Eastern  Mediterranean from the 5th to 12th centuries BC and played a vital role in the development of the culture of Classical Greece. They are closely linked to the Homeric epics of the Iliad and The Odyssey.
